Α response to German propaganda

Germany Was Biggest Debt Transgressor of 20th Century

Think Greece's current economic malaise is the worst ever experienced in Europe? Think again. Germany, economic historian Albrecht Ritschl argues in a SPIEGEL ONLINE interview, has been the worst debtor nation of the past century. He warns the country should take a more chaste approach in the euro crisis or it could face renewed demands for World War II reparations.

Albrecht Ritschl: "If Germany paid war compensations, would go bankrupt immediately”

After the Second World War, Germany left behind a Europe essentially damaged. Furthermore, because of frivolous options, the same over the past century,  has gone bankrupt three times. If it were not for the U.S., which helped financially after the war, and countries such as Greece, which never claimed war damages, now my country would not have the economic power it has. I've said it before and am not afraid to repeat to you, Karipidis: Germany is the biggest sinner in the 20th century and perhaps of modern economic history. more...

It is as simple as it sounds. By now, everybody knows that Germany -as the defeated one- owes Greece (Hellas) war reparations from world war II . By now, every loss payee got reparation except Greece which -by the way- suffered the most, according to the Nazi minister of Economics and President of Reichsbank Walter Funk who stated: "Greece suffered the pain of war and its consequences like -maybe- no other european country". more...

Jacques Delpla: Germany owes Greece €575bn from WWII

Talking to Les Echos the French econonmist Jacques Delpla claims that Germany still owes €575bn as a result of World War. He calls on Greece to respect its engagements with Europe by being serious about reforms and repayment of the debt. And he calls on Germany to keep its engagements with Europe by continuing to support Greece. more...

German War Reparation to Greece!

According to the Paris Peace Treaties (Paris 1947) Germany owes Greece War Reparations estimated (with the interests) about one (1) trillion euros! The issue came up the past few months along with the so called bankruptcy and became a popular demand (the payment) after the unacceptable articles, shows and commercials in Germany attacking Greeks showing them as the corrupted, lazy Balkanian living out of the "German tax payer" money. more...

Took them a while, but Germany has finally finished paying off reparations for that nasty bit of business almost a century ago.Germany was forced to pay the reparations at the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 as compensation to the war-ravaged nations of Belgium and France and to pay the Allies some of the costs of waging what was then the bloodiest conflict in history, leaving nearly ten million soldiers dead. The initial sum agreed upon for war damages in 1919 was 226 billion Reichsmarks (about 750 billion US dollars), a sum later reduced to 132 billion (about 400 billion US), £22 billion (roughly 37.5 billion US dollars) at the time. more...

What is going on in the eastern Mediterranean?

In 1947 IN ARCTIC Russians scientists discovered an undersea mountain range that reached Greenland and they named it Lomonosov. This Sierra - ridge is geologically part of Siberia. In 1982 THE INTERNATIONAL LAW OF THE SEA that sets issues of undersea borders to 12 nautical miles of the coast, was signed in the UN. THE INTERNATIONAL LAW OF THE SEA was not agreed and signed by two countries the U.S. (FOR ARCTIC) and Turkey (because of the Aegean islands).

According to this LAW of the UN if a country has undersea Mountains which area geological continuity of this country then its borders expand 12 nautical miles from the end of the undersea mountains.

Therefore Russia's borders reach Greenland and the whole of Arctic belongs to Russia.

In North Pole lies the 25% of global oil deposit and this makes Russia the greatest energy power of the world. This is why the US did not sign the International Law of the Sea.

On the other hand, if this law applies in Aegean Turkey loses all of it as it has no sierras and thus no energy fields to exploit. The application of the law -in the Aegean sea- by Greece (Hellas) is for Turkey a cause of war. So if Greece (Hellas) dared to apply it, it would lead to conflict. The only way Greece (Hellas) would not apply the law was to lose its sovereignty (with a Memorandum let' s say). But in order to make it happen, Greece (Hellas) would have to go bankrupt through Euro.

Europeans and Americans through Greece (Hellas) want to create a fait accompli to prevent Russia to implement the law of the sea and lose the Arctic. This is the reason why Putin offered 25 billion dollars to Papandreou (and China did so). He was trying to prevent Greece (Hellas) from getting into the IMF. Putin knew that if Greece lost the Aegean, Russia would lose the Arctic. This is why Greece went bankrupt.

But a small country like Cyprus, in its quest for survival, spoiled their plans. Concluded a bilateral agreement with Israel based on the International Law of the Sea. This was a great opportunity for Russia to implement the Law of the Sea. This is why it sent its fleet to the eastern Mediterranean Sea. At the same time Israel -like the US- is trapped to the international law. Israel (and the American allies) directly and indirectly recognize the Law which gives the Arctic to Russia! Turkey now feels isolated and ..."barks" alone!

Americans and Europeans dug the pit and fell into. Now Russia, in order to strengthen its position, was given permission to drill -through GASPROM- in an area that the Turks consider their property! If such thing happens (which is happening) then END OF GAME for Turkey and ...US! This is why the Europeans and the IMF are blackmailing Greece (Hellas) every time that they will not give the next dose of the loan unless Greece (Hellas) surrenders part of its sovereignty. Their latest achievement is the abolition of the Ministry of the Aegean!

Two things still to help to draw conclusions:

1.In 2010 the Turkish Ministry of Defence asked some academics if oil (in the Aegean) is as much as to justify the war with Greece. The answer was YES.

2. On July 25th 2011 The Russian Foreign Ministry issued a formal notice warning Turkey to leave Cyprus alone or else...

All this information is availiable on the net.

Some questions after what you' ve read in this article:

Q1: Will the Turks attack in Cyprus or Greece with the tolerance of Americans and probably after stimulation of the Israeli?

Q2: If Turkey does so would' t this be a precedent so the law will not apply and would' t Israel lose its ridge?

Q3: If Greece (Hellas) loses its sovereignty due to "bankruptcy" and a result of this will be the non implement of the international law is Russia going to lose the Arctic?

Q4: Is Russia going to attack Turkey because the Turks are ruining the russian plans for Arctic?

Q5: What Greece (Hellas) should do?

I, too, am Greek ! We demand double nationality !

Solidarity with the Greek people !

I, too, am Greek !
We demand double nationality !

Enfuriated by the cowardice and lack of imagination of the Western
governments—including our own (1)—towards the dictatorship of the
financial markets;

And disgusted by the current humiliations being imposed on the Greek
people, shamefully accused of excess and dishonesty, pronounced guilty
without being allowed a defence (2), condemned to endless austerity
and penitant contrition, in a language that evokes 1940 and Pétain
with its "moral order," "effort" and "spirit of joy;"

And certainly not forgotting those who now sacrifice Greece to the
financial speculators, pretend that "economic fascism" will content
itself with the little countries, sparing themselves...

... those same people who abandoned Czechoslovakia to Adolf Hitler in
Munich in 1938, hoping that he would be satisfied with this new prey,
following the cowardice shown to the Spanish republicans (3);

We will no longer support these nouveaux riches (the triumphant 1% of
the globalised world), who ignore the moral debt that humanity owes to
the Greek nation (4), which sowed the first seeds of direct democracy
(5), based precisely on the abolition of debts and the emancipation of
citizens reduced to slavery by their indebtedness 2500 years ago (6).

For all these reasons, we are all Greeks. We want to send a clear
signal right now that we will no longer collaborate a minute longer in
passivity towards the financial regime imposed on Greece (7). We wish
to express our solidarity with Greece, and to share, at least
symbolically, the fate of its people.

We therefore ask for dual Greek nationality, by making a formal
request to the Greek ambassador in our country. We will launch this
campaign with a list of primary signatories on the 24 November 2011, a
date that is also the anniversary of a significant action by the Greek
resistance at the Gorgopotamos Viaduct on the night of the 24/25
November 1942 (8).

"Declaration of Nantes for Greece," 11/11/11.

"Your excellency, in solidarity with your country, I, the undersigned.............. request personally to be counted at heart a Greek, to enjoy the rights and duties of dual nationality, and to express this international citizenship with a view to the establishment of universal democracy in liberty and equality, twenty-five centuries after the time of Solon, Clisthene, and Pericles. Thanks in advance for your response, and in fraternity with your people. "

This personal and collective response of a request for Greek
nationality belongs only to those who undertake it, and is not
directed by any party or institution. It has been proposed by the
N.e.u.f. cultural association ("Nantes Est Une Fête! ", note 9)

Notes on the call for solidarity:

Note 1: We will never forget the paternalistic disdain displayed
towards Greece by the leaders of Germany and France, an arrogant and
vexatious attitude, made all the more scandalous by the fact that it
is these two countries whose major arms deals with Greece have ruined
the country.

We are shamed by the Merkel-Sarkozy couple, who lecture at Greece when
it is down, forcing upon them a treatment that is as highhanded and
inept as that of the bloodletting physicians of old, medicine which
they next plan to administer to their own people.

We cannot accept that, for the first time in the history of mankind, a
country will lose its political sovereignty at the diktat of financial
markets, merely to defend the investments of the privileged 1% of the
world, who have bought themselves government bonds.

We will not allow these slanders towards the Greek people to pass,
while the responsibilities of the profitmongers and international
traffickers and their accomplices remain ignored.

Note 2: Nor even to express themselves in a referendum.

Note 3: Churchill's well known comment after Munich: "You were given
the choice between war and dishonour. You chose dishonour and you will have war." Gandhi's comment from India is less well known: "Europe has sold her soul for the sake of seven-days’ earthly existence. The peace Europe gained at Munich is a triumph of violence; it is also its
defeat."

We do not forget General Faucher, the French mission chief in Prague,
who, sickened by the Munich agreement, submitted an honourable
resignation to the French government, and then requested Czech
citizenship. General Louis-Eugène Faucher (1874-1964) had lived for
twenty years among the Czech people. On his return to France, he
joined the resistance against the Nazi occupation, was arrested and
deported to Germany, and survived to return home in 1945.

Note 4: Because Greece has given the world the inspiring myth of
Antigone, the unconquerable defiance of conscience in the face of
arbitrary tyranny;

Note 5: Because Greece gave Europe the first seeds of direct democracy
(not delegated to a class of professionals, but exercised directly by
an assembly and by drawing lots),

Note 6: And because the first act of the newborn Athenian democracy,
though but a fragile and imperfect shoot, under the rule of Solon in
594 BCE, was precisely the abolition of debts and the general
emancipation of citizens reduced to slavery by personal indebtedness.
But who remembers that?

We do not forget the eminent and heroic Greek resistance, which
strongly participated in the liberation of Europe from Nazism.

Note 7: The controls imposed on Greece are a blatant coup d'etat
against European democracy, a deliberate suffocation of its civil
society, a material and moral humiliation of its people, which will
inevitably spread in a domino effect to neighbouring countries,
including our own, with a risk of pre-fascist crisis.

Note 8: On the night of the 24/25 November 1942, the destruction of
the strategic Gorgopotamos railway viaduct between Thessaloniki and
Athens was an important joint action between two major elements of the
Greek resistance: the communist EAM-ELAS and the non-communist
EDES-EOEA, with the support of British special forces.

Note 9: The N.e.u.f association organises the Fête des langues
(Festival of languages) and walking tours commemorating the resistance against fascism in Nantes (Pays de la Loire/Brittany, France). This association was instrumental in achieving the transparent publication of public finances on the internet in 1995, and in 1997 launched the "Réveillon de 1er mai" (Eve of the 1st of May) outside the Paris Bourse (Stock exchange), the first demonstration in the western world for the Tobin tax on financial speculation and against tax havens.
N.e.u.f. also participated in the "Call to the youth for resistance"
of the 8 March 2004 with ATTAC, and the Décapol Declaration for Ten
new rights for the coming century.

Technical notes:

There is a general Greek consulate in Marseille, as well as twenty or
so honorary consulates in other French towns. Consult the list here:

A Greek flag measuring 1 x 1.5m with a pole, costs around 30 euros
from a specialised shop. A small table flag costs about 3 euros.

The photo overleaf shows the Greek flag flying over the Acropolis in
Athens, an important site for remembrance of the anti-nazi resistance.
