Two Steps Forward, One Step Back

Paul Craig Roberts
Washington’s plan to seize Ukraine and to evict Russia from its Black Sea naval base has come amiss. But to turn around Lenin’s quote, “two steps forward, one step back.”
Do you remember all the tough talk coming from John Kerry, the White House Fool, Hilary Clinton, and the lickspittle Merkel about the harsh sanctions that would “badly damage” the Russian economy unless Russia prevented the referendum vote in Crimea? Well, it was all bullshit, more hot air from the White House sock puppet and the lickspittle German chancellor who is a disgrace to the German nation. As the Russians kept telling John Kerry, sanctions on Russia would destroy Europe and do little damage to Russia.
I wish the Russians had kept this to themselves. I was looking forward to the Washington morons destroying NATO by closing down the European economy.
Of course, after pretending that they were macho tough guys, something that Washington’s presstitute media could hype as sanctions had to be imposed, so Washington came up with sanctions, not on Russia, but on eleven individuals: the deposed Ukrainian president, an advisor to the deposed president, 2 Crimean officials, and 7 Russians.
The choice of the officials is an utter mystery. The seven Russians are a Putin aid, a Putin adviser, four members of the Russian parliament (Duma) and a deputy prime minister. What any of these people had to do with the referendum in Crimea, no one knows.
Moreover, the sanctions only apply to foreign bank accounts that these 11 individuals might have outside Russia. Most likely, that means only the deposed Ukrainian president, if we are to believe all the propaganda about him. Other reports say that the sanctions are only for the next six months.
If the Washington and EU criminals steal any money from these persons, the Russian central bank can replenish their stolen accounts.
The people who decided that Crimea would disassociate from Ukraine and return to Russia were the people themselves. Under the wording of Obama’s stupid sanctions, his sanctions should apply to the Crimean people who voted to disassociate from the US stooge government in Kiev.
Additionally, Obama’s sanctions apply to himself and to his regime and to its NATO puppets as it was the West that overthrew the elected government of Ukraine, not Russia or Crimea. The Americans, of course, never apply law to themselves.
In other words, the sanctions are totally meaningless. Yet, the White House Fool declared: “If Russia continues to interfere in Ukraine, we stand ready to impose further sanctions.”
Obama’s hypocrisy makes a person want to puke. It is the White House Fool who is interfering in Ukraine. It was Washington that financed and organized the overthrow of the elected Ukraine government, using well organized and well armed neo-nazis to intimidate the unarmed police and ruling party, thus clearing the way for Washington to set up an unelected government of its well-paid stooges.
What the incompetent White House Fool overlooked is that southern and eastern Ukraine are Russian, not Ukrainian, so the fool’s coup has caused Crimea to depart and is causing widespread protests in eastern Ukraine against Washington’s stooge unelected government in Kiev. Washington’s stooge Kiev government has appointed unelected Ukrainian multibillionaire oligarchs, who have their own private security forces, as mayors of the Russian cities to put down the protests. If the oligarchs use violence against the Russian people, the likely result will be that the Russian Army will take control of eastern Ukraine, which in every essential way is Russian.
If eastern Ukraine returns to Russia, Washington will be left with the ultra-nationalists of western Ukraine, people who fought for Hitler during World War 2. The EU doesn’t want ultra-nationalists as the EU is busy stamping out nationalism and the sovereignty of European countries. Nevertheless, Washington will have gained a strategic advantage over Moscow, as Washington can place anti-ballistic missile and other military bases on western Ukraine’s border with Russia, thus completing Washington’s encirclement of Russia with hostile military and missile bases.
Russia will neutralize the US bases by targeting them with Iskander missiles, which cannot be intercepted by ABMs.
All that the White House Fool will have achieved is to further make clear to Russia, and to China, that Washington has both on its target list, because both are in the way of Washington’s world hegemony.

The Cyprus 'Bailout' And Germany - Bailout"

18 months ago, we said to watch Cyprus, as it would be the next battle ground.

And so it has come to pass, the German-dominated EU is overstepping its own hideous track record, and demanding that Cyprus raid its own citizen's accounts - in nothing short of an act of theft.

As ever, there is more than meets the eye.

Cyprus Bailout: Welcome To Another Great Depression

Tim Worstall, Contributor
So, this is going to be a very sour reading of what has happened in Cyprus this weekend. It will also be a very partisan one, possibly even a partial one. But if Milton Friedman and Anna Schwartz were right in their insistence that it was actually the Federal Reserve that caused the Great Depression (which is something that Ben Bernanke himself has insisted that the Fed will not repeat) then one way of interpreting what has happened is that the European Central Bank has just set us all up for another Depression. The trigger is that “tax” of a little over 6% on all depositors.
This isn’t an analysis that you’ll be able to get all economists to sign up to. But the basic story told by Friedman and Schwartz in “A Monetary History of theUnited States” was that the 1929 crash was indeed a serious crash. But it would not have led to the Great Depression without the Federal Reserve making some serious mistakes. Two of which were to allow the intertwined collapses of both the money supply and the banking system. Given that it is the banks that create credit and thus the wider money supply they are, to a great extent, the same thing.
The actual process was the series of bank runs that happened through the early 1930s. The problem is that in a fractional reserve banking system banks are inherently unstable. The fractional refers to the fact that when you deposit $100 with one they don’t then keep that $100 in the safe. They take a guess at how much they need in the safe (OK, it’s an informed guess, but it is a guess) for when people turn up demanding their cash and the rest of it they lend out to other people. This is how companies, mortgages and business loans are financed (please, we don’t need to go into “ but loans finance deposits” and all that: it might even be true but it’s irrelevant here).

Merkel Outraged about Greeks on Strike; She May Consider to Impose Curfew?

Posted by  in PoliticsSociety
German Chancellor Angela Merkel stunned 200 parliamentarians and journalists in Europe Parliament when she fiercely opposed Greeks launching strikes and protests.

You have to tell them, ‘It is not right, that every time I go on strike when a privatization is due,  it is not right that a railway company is not able to pay its employees due to the ticket fares, it is not OK if the government ministries do not cooperate with each other, it’s not OK if one has a taxation system, but not paying taxes.”
I assume, that the aversion and the lack of understanding for the frustration and anger of austerity-ridden Greeks, have very much to do with the former DDR-mentality of Frau Merkel, where even basic labour rights were forbidden and hardly one dared to whisper “b” when Honnecker was singing ”A”.

The Imperial trap for Berlin

Excerpt from the article: The "triangle" of the crisis, the "friendly" advice of the City to the Germans or the Imperial trap for Berlin EPIKERA magazine 156th issue.

When the disaster occurs,  when the dust settles, the people of Europe will begin to blame each other and everyone will blame the Greeks. The Germans and other Europeans leaders blame Greece as responsible for all the ills of Europe.

.... In late September, the Financial Times of London published an unusually brutal editorial, urging the EU, ECB and IMF to avoid paying Greece the sixth installment of the agreed loan. The editorial explained that Greece was not required to respond to international financial obligations until the end of the year. If not paid by installment, the Greek government would be unable to pay the salaries and pensions, the editorial stated, representing investors and broker of the City. (In the weeks that followed the publication of the editorial, the Greek government faced the threat of interruption of funding, began operating under the rule of absolute confusion and panic, slaughtering virtually all social classes under the supervision of the troika which was sent to Greece and in fact acted as a high level economic killer .)

The Brits know the Greeks and the Germans much better than what the Greeks and the Germans know themselves. Fought against them and defeated them repeatedly and in different ways. Investors and traders in the City may provide a possible outcome if followed their advice - and it is followed. Their advice will accelerate the destruction of Greece, resulting that Greece and Europe will be watered down so much that they will not be able to deal with them. It is also likely that the Greek people will be pushed out sooner or later to some kind of insurrection or rebellion, first against the Greek government, but probably against Germany and the EU. Someone can not criticize the Greeks. They made the second most important European revolution after the French and convened a National Assembly in 1822, when Napoleon was defeated and the Holy Alliance that ruled Europe at the time condemned any rebellion. Also organized the most massive resistance movement during World War II, taking into account the country's population.

Investors and traders in the City also know very well the German temperament, they know that Germans love discipline to the same extent that the Greeks love rebellion. They believe that Berlin would react to an uprising in Greece with a hard, rigid and non-political way. Germany and the EU's political and economic weight are able to induce in Greece an even bigger disaster than it' s already been caused by their policies - and with the cooperation of the Greek government. But do not have the means to avoid the financial and mainly political, ideological and geopolitical implications of the destruction of a small but simultaneously the most historical country in Europe. They can do it, and probably will, but this will accelerate their destruction. If after their adventures in the Middle East Americans rely on the "law of unintended consequences", we should introduce in Europe the new "law of asymmetric effects."

The idea of political unification of Europe will accept a mortal blow. Already the political climate in Europe is poisoned. Both the "rich" and the "poor" Eurozone countries have begun to protest against the" assistance" to Greece, ignoring the fact that the Greeks are not helped in any way,  the banks are and they destroy Greece, and in some cases they speculate and profit from the difficulties of a member country of the EU. Everyone in Europe has begun to seek national solutions. In France, which has always been the political barometer of the whole continent, the fascist National Front of Marine Le Pen is now a socially acceptable political power. The fundamental political office that created and maintained postwar prosperity, democracy and peace in Europe is undermined rapidly before our eyes.

When the disaster occurs  when the dust settles, the people of Europe will begin to blame each other and everyone will blame the Greeks. The Germans and other Europeans leaders blame  Greece as responsible for all the ills of Europe and invoke as a pretext for an excuse to impose draconian economic and social policies in Germany and Europe. From their side Greeks will be disappointed because they are refused to Europe, to which they were oriented for two and a half centuries. They will not turn against the "markets" because they have no "address" and "phone number", but against Europe and especially Germany, accusing them for the destruction of their country -for the second time in less than a century. They will remember that the Germans did not pay war reparations and did not return the gold they stole from the Bank of Greece. They will reopen the contracts case of Siemens and other companies, given that European companies massively bribe Greek politicians. The International Herald Tribune, Time and the Financial Times will publish a story about hunger in Athens or analyze the weakness of Europeans to solving their problems. The implication of such a development are obvious. First of all, the image of the social catastrophe in Greece will be used to terrorize all European citizens to accept the salaries and pensions that banks will allow governments to give them. Second, all but the Germans will come to the same conclusion: "The Germans do not change." They remain the same. We can not trust them.

This is exactly the fundamental psychological and ideological mechanism used after the Second World War by the Empire to dominate over in Germany and Europe, to keep the continent divided and dependent, despite the economic, social, and spiritual achievements. And it will be a historic irony if the German nationalism contribute once again to undermine the German national interests ....

She came, saw and left!

The theater of the absurd was played out today in Athens. The responsible of the destruction of Greece, German Chancellor Angela Merkel came to give support to under-dialysis (dissolution)Samaras government . Also came in the context of contemporary Goebbel propaganda in a time where we expect the worst financial measures against the Greeks from World War II. Within this communication show, the Greek government is trying to overshadow the social Armageddon in which will throw the Greeks, with the "success" of the Merkel visit  and support on the government from the Chancellor. And believe me, this disgraceful performance will become believable by those to whom it is addressed. And I mean those who will mainly suffer, pensioners and employees. Especially retired people who are willing to be persuaded and to catch any excuse that will ensure their ravaged pensions and they constitute the largest part of the aged Greek population .

Certainly not missing is the symbolism of this performance. The declarations of allegiance to the Greek (;) prime minister, the 7000 policemen and the declaration of martial law, which prohibits the gathering in areas where the "boss" will stop or will pass  in conjunction with the  hegemonic performance of the Chancellor easily refer to occupied area, refer easily to the third Reich days!

What confirms the above is the day. This Day on October 9, 1944, just three days before the German occupation forces leave Greece, Athens was bombed, leaving 6 dead and dozens injured. Irony? Coincidence? Planning or hoax?

The situation in Greece is very difficult. The Germans decided to support the crumbling Samaras government  and prevent undesired  -for them- situations in Greece. The worst they could expect is a government which will not be controlled such as for example a Tsipras government  who leans to the other side of the Atlantic.

However -now AGAIN- we lost the opportunity. We missed opportunity to stand up. To rise up us as Greeks not only by descent but mainly because of international circumstances which give tremendous  advantages in Greece, which holds a geostrategic position of growing importance. The developments in the Middle East, the financial conflict between the United States and Germany, the very good relations with Russia, which sees Greece with much interest because of what is happening in Syria and the possible loss of the naval base, the most intimate relationships with Israel that EEZ and joint research for hydrocarbons and natural gas, and utility of Greece for the interests of China, which sees us as their ticket to the European market, all these together make Greece a very serious player in the global chessboard, a role which the puppets of Merkel, the dependent, trapped in the nets of German agencies, Greek politicians renounce every day, and the Greeks are paying the price!

The greek political system is so addicted and trapped by the Germans, who know all their wrongdoings, they prefer to participate in the genocide unfolding than to "burn" their pelt!
Quite the contrary i would say, day by day they are becoming harder and hopefully with the help of the "boss" will remain "clean" since any way and every way for reaction from the people will be vanished.

Athens today

Within this frame moved most major media of Greece, which are controlled by people who, in such situations, find enrichment opportunities. Along with them the state media, which showed us the current "inspection" of Ms Merkel as the happiest days of modern Greek history ! While Samaras - Merkel closed agreements with the business "elite" of the two countries: bankers, pharmaceutical, industry, etc. The real world was beeing bombarded by chemicals from the repressive forces of the New World Order and the 4th Reich. Most images of this battle that unfolded on the streets of Athens were shown in the foreign TV networks!

I'll close with a prayer. As at October 9, 1944, the Germans bombed for the last time the city of Athens and left. I hope the visit of the representative of the 4th Reich and the New World Order in our city after 68 years, to be the beginning of the end of them!

P.S.1: Οf course for war reparations and the Occupation Loan Germany owes Greece (Hellas) not a word!

P.S.2: The Stern magazine estimates the war reparations at 370 billion euros!

Irony? Coincidence? Plan?

October 9: Symbolic day today. On October 9, 1944, three days before their departure, the Germans bombard Athens. Report: six dead and 22 wounded. Today, 68 years after, the Germans (Merkel), choose to make a show of strength in town again.

We do not forget!

Merkler?

IS THE GERMAN CHANCELLOR BECOMING CRAZY AGAIN?

Abstract: Thereafter some inconvenient background for the G8 at Camp David. Who does that Merkler take herself for?
Hitler started his career in 1920 as a pawn of the antijewish plutocrat Henry Ford, and Dr H. Schacht, himself a pawn of JP Morgan. By turning the Peoples of Europe into the serfs of banksters, and of........

The privilege that Greece has against  Germany is the Berlin report on occupation loan and the war reparations of World War II in Greece
Within the euro zone with Greece is in a state of bankruptcy and complete dependence on borrowing by the Union, Germany has managed to close this front, through the Memorandum 1 and 2.

Especially in the new Memorandum, which has been voted by the Greek Parliament with 199 votes, compensation for clearance of loans from Europe is excluded. Nevertheless, the German foreign ministry.......

Reply to the German Foreign Office!

The German Foreign Ministry in a statement yesterday said that for Germany there is no longer war reparations issue.
The Germans recognize their responsibilities to the ravages of World War II but in the context of cooperation between the two countries within NATO and the European Union for decades, there is no war reparations issue.....

Greece and Germany at war

Germany was committed to the London agreement in 1953 to compensate Greece when  the two Germanys unify. The London Agreement included the requirement, when the two Germanys be unified, to sign the peace treaty necessarily and immediately pay. They were unified in 1989, and were immediately obliged to honor the written commitments and to sign peace with our country.

THE EUROPEAN LEAGUE OF GENEVA

Honorable members of the European Parliament
Honorabler members of the EU Commission

The steering Committee of the ELG, mindful of the duty of solidarity by and equality of all members of the European Union, observes for some time now with dismay the hostile attitude of the officials of the German Government and of the German press and public, against the Greek Nation and the people of Greece in its present difficult situation. It observes that although Greece with a public debt of $532 bln is last in the list of countries with excessive public debt, far after UK ($8,980 bln), Germany ($4,712 bln),Ireland ($2,131 bln) Austria ($754 bln), Denmark ($559 bln), yet it is facing an unprescedented attack against the national dignity of its

Germany Was Biggest Debt Transgressor of 20th Century

Think Greece's current economic malaise is the worst ever experienced in Europe? Think again. Germany, economic historian Albrecht Ritschl argues in a SPIEGEL ONLINE interview, has been the worst debtor nation of the past century. He warns the country should take a more chaste approach in the euro crisis or it could face renewed demands for World War II reparations.

Albrecht Ritschl: "If Germany paid war compensations, would go bankrupt immediately”

After the Second World War, Germany left behind a Europe essentially damaged. Furthermore, because of frivolous options, the same over the past century,  has gone bankrupt three times. If it were not for the U.S., which helped financially after the war, and countries such as Greece, which never claimed war damages, now my country would not have the economic power it has. I've said it before and am not afraid to repeat to you, Karipidis: Germany is the biggest sinner in the 20th century and perhaps of modern economic history. more...

It is as simple as it sounds. By now, everybody knows that Germany -as the defeated one- owes Greece (Hellas) war reparations from world war II . By now, every loss payee got reparation except Greece which -by the way- suffered the most, according to the Nazi minister of Economics and President of Reichsbank Walter Funk who stated: "Greece suffered the pain of war and its consequences like -maybe- no other european country". more...

Jacques Delpla: Germany owes Greece €575bn from WWII

Talking to Les Echos the French econonmist Jacques Delpla claims that Germany still owes €575bn as a result of World War. He calls on Greece to respect its engagements with Europe by being serious about reforms and repayment of the debt. And he calls on Germany to keep its engagements with Europe by continuing to support Greece. more...

German War Reparation to Greece!

According to the Paris Peace Treaties (Paris 1947) Germany owes Greece War Reparations estimated (with the interests) about one (1) trillion euros! The issue came up the past few months along with the so called bankruptcy and became a popular demand (the payment) after the unacceptable articles, shows and commercials in Germany attacking Greeks showing them as the corrupted, lazy Balkanian living out of the "German tax payer" money. more...

Took them a while, but Germany has finally finished paying off reparations for that nasty bit of business almost a century ago.Germany was forced to pay the reparations at the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 as compensation to the war-ravaged nations of Belgium and France and to pay the Allies some of the costs of waging what was then the bloodiest conflict in history, leaving nearly ten million soldiers dead. The initial sum agreed upon for war damages in 1919 was 226 billion Reichsmarks (about 750 billion US dollars), a sum later reduced to 132 billion (about 400 billion US), £22 billion (roughly 37.5 billion US dollars) at the timemore...
